www.thewholeroad.com is up! After debating whether to post page-by-page or in blocks, I’ve decided to share with you the 3 intro pages. This project is terrifying to me. It’s huge. It’s years and years ( and years ) of travel, of stories, of tips and tutorials. It’s a stack of travelogue sketchbooks 4 feet high spanning 13 years. Like the best journeys, it is both too much and perfectly overwhelming at once.
What is The Whole Road? It will be a series of narratives of my experiences, interspersed with practical tutorials on how to live life on the road. Getting ready for a trip? What should you bring? How should you pack? What, emotionally, might you encounter during your process and trip? Where can you camp for free, and where do you have to pay? What is the difference? What kind of vehicle do you need and how should you prepare it? All these things. More. Every aspect of what it means to live a nomadic lifestyle.
